Behind the sustainability report: what corporate reporting and site-level data reveal about supply chain due diligence

When it comes to workforce risks in global supply chains, no single dataset tells the whole story.

Join Sedex and Thomson Reuters Foundations’s Workforce Disclosure Initiative (WDI) as we bring together two unique perspectives on supply chain workforce risk. WDI’s analysis of company disclosures highlights disclosure gaps, key risk areas and signs of real progress in workforce governance. Sedex’s site-level audit and self-assessment data provides a view of conditions and practices across more than 100,000 supplier sites worldwide. Together, these perspectives offer a richer understanding of how supply chain due diligence is being managed in practice.

The visibility illusion: Why your supplier data doesn’t tell the whole story

Supply chain sustainability teams are operating in an increasingly volatile environment, facing rising costs, regulatory scrutiny and geopolitical disruption. Sedex partnered with Verdantix on new research examining how procurement, supply chain and sustainability professionals manage supplier risk, and what happens to visibility as firms look beyond their direct, Tier 1 suppliers. The findings reveal a consistent pattern: while over 80% of leaders recognise that material risks may lie deep within their supply chains, supplier data coverage, credibility and independent verification all decline sharply beyond Tier 1, leaving firms with a false sense of confidence in their own oversight.

Join us for this on-demand webinar, delivered by Sedex in collaboration with Vedantix, will unpack the findings of this joint research and explore why supply chain visibility has become such a pressing priority. The session will set out the context for the collaboration, walk through the data in detail, and connect the findings to the practical risks and choices facing supply chain and sustainability teams today.

Attendees will leave with a clear picture of where supplier visibility typically breaks down, why that matters for regulatory, reputational and operational resilience, and practical steps they can take to prioritise supplier engagement and risk intelligence where it will have the greatest impact.

Learning from leaders: how Unilever approaches supply chain due diligence at scale

Global organisations are under increasing pressure to deliver effective supply chain due diligence while managing growing complexity, regulatory expectations, and supplier engagement at scale. For many, the challenge is not only identifying risks, but embedding responsible sourcing into day-to-day operations in a way that is consistent, practical, and scalable.

In this webinar, Sedex and Unilever will explore how a global enterprise approaches supply chain due diligence in practice. The session will focus on how Unilever has structured its responsible sourcing programmes, how it engages suppliers and manages compliance, and how data and audit insights are used to drive internal decision-making.

The discussion will also reflect on the organisation’s journey over time - including key challenges, lessons learned, and how these have been addressed - as well as what “good” looks like going forward for responsible sourcing at scale.
