Sedex Holdings Ltd AGM 2024

The Sedex Holdings Ltd Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place online on Tuesday 25 June 2024 at 12:00 noon (BST). 

We are pleased to confirm that all Resolutions presented to our members at this year’s AGM were passed, with a minimum of 95% of votes in favour for each of six Resolutions.

We are also delighted to introduce our new Member Director: Chenguang (Austin) Zhang.

The Sedex Holdings Chair, Steven Esom, and Chief Executive Officer, Jon Hancock, updated Sedex Holdings members about business progress over the past 12 months and the business strategy for 2024.

Sedex’s Managing Director in Asia, Walter Lin, provided an update on the products and services we are delivering to meet our members’ needs.

Members had the opportunity to bote on the Resolutions of the 2024 AGM. These included approving Sedex’s audited accounts for 2023, reappointing two current Member Directors and approving changes to the Sedex Holdings Articles of Association.

We’re delighted to introduce Chenguang (Austin) Zhang as the new Member Director of the Sedex Holdings Board, as voted for by our members in the election held at this year’s AGM.

  • Making key insights more accessible, supporting more informed decisions and targeted action to drive improvements. E.g. by highlighting outstanding critical non-compliances.

  • Exploring partnerships and solutions to bring more relevant data and insights into the Sedex Platform.

Dynamic suite of assessment tools

  • An improved Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) to capture key data points more accurately, including by being more accessible for supplier users.
  • Updating the SMETA methodology to increase detection of critical issues, drive site-level improvement and enhance audit quality.
  • Introducing a new environmental assessment solution.

Better value for supplier members

  • Quicker onboarding and shorter Self-Assessment Questionnaire for goods providers – easier to complete and more aligned with SMETA.
  • Increasing training and guidance to drive improvements, with highlighted opportunities to implement good practices “beyond compliance”.
  • More accessible tools and Platform, with improved designs, clearer guidance and helpful explanations.
  • More virtual and in-person events to learn from peers and experts through the Sedex Community – to share challenges and solutions in a “safe space”, and identify new partners.
