2025 – 2026 SMETA Basic Internal Auditor Workshop Trainer Authorization and Training Plan – Malaysia
With the increasing influence of Sedex and SMETA in the Asia market, more and more organizations are offering unauthorized and illegal Sedex and SMETA training. Some training sessions delivered inaccurate introduction of Sedex of SMETA because these organizations failed to accurately master the knowledge on Sedex and SMETA.
In order to unify the acknowledge of Sedex and SMETA in the market, and to help businesses better understand and use SMETA audit, enhance their capabilities and performance in the responsible supply chain, Sedex has launched the SMETA training Authorization Program in Malaysia.
SMETA Basic Internal Auditor Workshop Trainer Authorization Process

- Submit authorization application to Sedex China.
- Sedex evaluates and assesses the capacity and capability of the Affiliate Audit Company and the applicant, confirms the best Affiliate Audit Company and applicant.
- After the application is approved, applicants are required to attend and complete the related training.
- Assessment of applicants: Applicants are to go through the simulated training delivery. Sedex will perform the evaluation. If applicants fail the first assessment, they are to take the re-assessment.
- If all the assessments and evaluations are passed, the program logo ‘SMETA Training Authorization Program – Malaysia’ is issued to the authorized trainer and the audit company.
- Authorized Affiliate Audit Company and trainer are to conduct the annual review.
Please be reminded that : Only Sedex authorized organization (AAC) and authorized trainer are qualified to conduct Sedex & SMETA 7.0 Awareness Introduction and SMETA Basic Internal Auditor Workshop in Malaysia. Participants who successfully complete SMETA Basic Internal Auditor Workshop and pass the test will receive a workshop completion certificate issued jointly by Sedex and the authorized Affiliate Audit Company.
