Sedex Becomes GRI-Licensed Partner, with Enhanced Platform for Supply Chain Due Diligence & Sustainability
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) recognises Sedex as a verified Software & Tools Partner, whose solutions and data align with this international standard.
We’re excited to share that Sedex has become a licensed GRI Software and Tools Partner! This confirms Sedex as a data solutions provider aligned with the GRI Standards – the world’s most widely used framework for corporate sustainability disclosure.
The recognition comes as we complete our significant Platform transformation, a multi-year project. The enhanced Sedex Platform provides what procurement, compliance and sustainability teams need most right now: site-level visibility, practical tools, streamlined assessment processes, verifiable data and efficient reporting for complex global supply chains.
Our assessment solutions and the Platform’s reporting capabilities now match the GRI Standards on supply chain data in multiple areas, from general disclosures on supplier sites and workers to specific topics including child labour, forced labour, water and waste management.
This gives confidence to Sedex customers that they can use their Sedex Platform data directly in reports that are in accordance with, or with reference to, the GRI Standards – supporting both investor and regulatory requirements.
Alex Chiodo at GRI commends our achievement:
“After thoroughly testing and verifying the authentic representation of the GRI Standards in its tool functionalities, GRI is pleased to announce that Sedex is now an official Licensed Software & Tools Partner.
“This will help companies to better manage their data, simplify compliance with regulatory requirements and build trust with local and international stakeholders.”
Alex Chiodo, Senior Manager of the GRI Licensing Software & Tools Program
Essential support for supply chain goals
With the current landscape presenting many challenges for business, from tariff uncertainty to regional disruptions, leadership teams must respond to turbulence while continuing to meet stakeholder demands for proactive sustainability risk management, responsible sourcing and reporting.
Our solutions make this easier for companies, supporting sourcing agility, due diligence and resiliency efforts alongside compliance tasks. Sedex customers capture supplier data just once to use across multiple reporting requirements and standards, including GRI – significantly reducing duplication, administrative burden and effort.
- Multiple data sources, integrated analysis and expanded site-level insights: Third-party risk data, supplier self-reported information and in-person SMETA audit findings are all integrated into Sedex Platform analytics and reports – helping businesses turn vast amounts of information from global supply chains into strategic plans.
- Critical supplier prioritisation: New scorecard reports and summary dashboards surface findings across SMETA audits, sustainability risk and supplier governance/compliance practices, highlighting priority areas for targeted improvement.
- Comprehensive risk and compliance reporting: Integrated risk analysis tools combine global information with supplier and site-level data to produce bespoke risk scores, enabling teams to proactively manage risks and prioritise further action with clear rationale. Intuitive dashboards simplify tracking and reporting on social, ethical and environmental supply chain concerns, compliance gaps and performance.
- Expanded API access: Our customers can now bring both risk and SMETA audit data into their internal procurement systems, to access supplier and site information within existing workflows for faster, more robust analysis.
We’ll also deliver a streamlined, custom GRI solution later this year – collating relevant data points from the Sedex Platform into a single report, to further simplify sustainability reporting.
“Becoming GRI-licensed marks a major milestone for Sedex, for our solutions, and for our customers. It affirms our role in enabling companies to go beyond minimum requirements and lead in transparent, responsible practices through high-quality supply chain insights.
“Our customers have already resolved over 36,000 issues at supply chain sites this year, across labour practices, environmental management and more – found at in-person SMETA audits.
“We’re proud to deliver such a powerful solution for supply chain risk management, multi-tier due diligence, performance tracking and reporting.”
