Sedex welcomes Matt Bye as new Chief Technology Officer
This week Sedex welcomes Matt Bye to the Executive Team as Chief Technology Officer. Matt joins Sedex to drive product portfolio development and ensure best-in-class platforms for members, bringing his significant expertise from fast-growth businesses and start-ups.
“I’m keen to bring learnings from the high-growth start-up world into Sedex, and I think there are really exciting opportunities to accelerate and automate delivery to get better products to our members faster,” says Matt.
Matt believes that data is essential for driving change within any business, including in responsible sourcing – businesses must embrace data, if they haven’t already, to inform everything they do. “Data allows us to identify common supply chain problems, identify patterns of poor practices, and understand what platform designs will be most useful for our members.”
With the increased pressure on global supply chains applied by recent world events, data helps businesses at every stage to understand how they and their workers are affected and decide on the best protective steps to take.
Matt’s tech career began at Ford Motor Company where he worked in pricing and ordering systems. After several years as a software developer, he moved into software architecture and delivery management with roles at Random House and Reed Business Information.
His experience with fast-growing private equity and venture capitalist-backed businesses is drawn from Chief Technology Officer roles at the likes of Wowcher, Business Monitor International and eporta. He joins Sedex from lead generation business MVF.
“I’m really looking forward to working alongside the rest of the talented Executive Team to drive Sedex forward. I know the lessons I’ve learnt in fast-growth businesses can help us achieve our ambitious targets to improve the lives of workers and, most importantly, create the best services and experience for our members.”
All at Sedex thoroughly welcome Matt to the business.
