Management Controls Guidance

This guidance is designed to assist Sedex supplier members with the Management Controls Report from the core Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). This new guidance is available in four chapters that correspond with the four SMETA pillars; Labour, Health and Safety, Business Ethics and Environment. providing guidance on the key elements of a management system that will help to meet standards, address problems and, in many cases, improve business performance. It can also help you prepare for an audit or resolve non compliances identified at audit.

A management system is how businesses run their day-to-day operations, make decisions and avoid problems. Management controls are part of a company’s management systems and are ways that risks are controlled.

This guidance is available in English, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese.

Labour

This chapter provides guidance on the key elements of a management system that will help to meet standards, address problems and, in many cases, improve business performance.
